Diesel Mechanic

About the Role

This role involves skilled maintenance and repair of all Public Works Department vehicles and equipment, as well as the

upkeep of the Town garage. The mechanic works under the general supervision of the Superintendent and Highway Division

Foreman, with significant autonomy in decision-making regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities:

Perform skilled repairs and maintenance on gasoline and diesel engines, including engine overhauls, brake and suspension

work, electrical system repairs, and clutch replacements Operate and document a preventive maintenance program, keeping

detailed records of all work performed on vehicles and equipment Repair power equipment and tools such as compressors,
