About the Role

Job Title Bridge Welder Location Statewide, MA Job Description Incumbents of positions in this series weld, braze, heat

and cut metals in the repair or maintenance of fixed and movable bridges; and perform related work as required. The

basic purpose of the work is to maintain and repair bridges using welding. Welds metals using acetylene, electric arc

and/or other welding equipment to perform alterations and repairs needed to maintain bridges and structures on, or

related to, bridges in a safe and workable condition. Prepares materials for welding by preheating and cleaning metals

and by laying out, cutting and fitting materials according to blueprints, specifications or instructions. Fabricates
